Hockey4All
Hockey Ireland’s programme called Hockey4All is a programme set up within hockey clubs for players of all ages with disabilities.
Hockey4All is the adapted format of hockey for players with a disability. It provides the opportunity for people in Ireland with a disability to share the love for Hockey.
Our Hockey4All programme, funded by Sport Ireland’s Dormant Account Funding and sponsored by Park Developments aims to offer young people with disabilities an opportunity to become part of the local hockey community, to keep healthy (socially, mentally and physically) and have fun in a team sport. This programme is for all age groups.
We currently have 5 clubs established and 7 new clubs taking part this year. We hope to develop this programme in other clubs in the next few years.
The clubs already set up are Botanic, Avoca, Loreto, Monkstown, Three Rock Rovers, Railway Union and Bray.
Clubs starting this year are Skerries, Portrane, Dungarvan, Cork COI, Dungarvan and Boyne.
Blitzes will be organised between clubs over the next few months and throughout other provinces.
We are seeking to engage with clubs, LSP’s and Local Authorities to set up Hockey4All sections. Support will include:
- Coach and umpire training
- Active Disability Ireland courses.
- Equipment to support programme delivery
- Taster sessions in local schools / community groups
- Competition and blitz opportunities
- Other supports as required
If you, or your club would be interested in finding out more about this programme or would like to avail of funding, please contact inclusion@hockey.ie
