Another Shake up in the standings sees Pembroke take top spot in the Men’s EY Hockey League, and Queen’s University keeps pace with Railway and Loreto in the Women’s.

EY Hockey League Results – Saturday, October 11

Saturday, October 11: Plenty of goals across the Men’s and Women’s EY Hockey League gave onlooking fans lots to enjoy as the table on both sides experienced yet another shake up.

In the Women’s EYHL, second half goals for Railway Union helped them surpass Ulster Elks and stay top of the table, while Loreto continued their unbeaten start to keep pace with a game in hand. Two goals in the opening five minutes was enough for Queen’s University to take the win against Pegasus and stay within a point of the league leaders. UCD came out on the winning end of a very close encounter with Pembroke Wanderers, Milla Fulton’s game separating the sides. And Portadown recorded a win over Catholic Institute after making the long journey to Limerick to stay in the top half of the table.

In the Men’s EYHL, Pembroke Wanderers go top of the table after an impressive win over Monkstown. Lisnagarvey put ten past Cork C of I on the road to climb into fourth spot. Three Rock Rovers survived a late push from YMCA to grab their third win of the season and break into the top half. And Corinthian overcame Avoca stay in the early chase for an EY Champions Trophy place.
