Hockey ID is Hockey Ireland’ national team for players with intellectual disabilities over the age of 16. This team represent Ireland on an international scale and have seen great success at European competitions:
- Won Bronze in the Euros, held in Germany in 2023
- Won Gold in the National Games held in Tilburg, Holland in 2024
- Competed in the Santorelli Cup in Bulgaria and the Euros in Germany in 2025
- Won Bronze in Valencia in 2026
The squad is committed to develop and increase capacity across Ireland. In 2025, trials took place over 3 months, resulting in an increase to 35 players within the Hockey ID development squad. Trials will continue throughout the year allowing players from Hockey4All clubs the opportunity to progress. Players under 16 may join the development squad but are not eligible for international competition until reaching the age of 16.
