EY Hockey League heads into final round before winter break with plenty still to play for

Wednesday, November 12:  The EY Hockey League reaches Round 11 and its final round before the winter break this weekend, with both divisions finely poised and plenty still to play for across the tables.

In the Women’s EYHL , leaders Loreto return to home soil to face Portadown, aiming to maintain their unbeaten run heading into the break. Second-placed UCD will host Railway Union at Belfield with both sides in the top three and keen to close the gap. At Rosbrien, Catholic Institute welcome Pembroke Wanderers, Pegasus host Old Alex at The Dub and Ulster Elks meet Queen’s University in an Ulster collegiate rivalry.

In the Men’s EYHL, league leaders Banbridge travel to Serpentine Avenue to face Pembroke Wanderers with Banbridge looking to protect their lead at the top, while Pembroke aim to strengthen their top-half position before the break. Second-placed Lisnagarvey face a tough trip to Grange Road to take on Three Rock Rovers, with both sides in strong form and keen to finish the first half of the season on a high. Monkstown, currently sitting third, visit Corinthian at Whitechurch Park as both teams look to build on recent performances. At Garryduff, Cork C of I take on Avoca in a crucial encounter at the lower end of the table, while Cookstown host YMCA in another important clash for points ahead of the league’s winter pause.
