Sunday, March 29: The destination of the Women’s EY Hockey League was determined as Loreto retained their title for the third consecutive season, while Lisnagarvey maintained their place at the summit of the Men’s EYHL having come out on top of a ten goal thriller with Pembroke Wanderers.
In the Women’s EYHL, Loreto put in a flawless home performance against Queen’s University to secure a 3-0 win and crown themselves EY Hockey League winners. A goal apiece for Christina Hamill, Anna Horan, and Siofra O’Brien secured the Leinster club their third consecutive league title.
In the Men’s EYHL, Lisnagarvey came away with another crucial three points as they came from two goals down to beat Pembroke 6-4. Banbridge kept within touching distance of their rivals as they ended Corinthians unbeaten run to record a 4-1 win. And Three Rock Rovers made no mistake at home to Cookstown to secure their win which sees them climb to third in the standings.
In the Men’s EYHL2, Bandon came from two goals down to secure a point away to CI Annadale, with the hosts getting the shootout bonus point.
