Following the opening of Member Registration for the upcoming new season, Hockey Ireland is pleased to announce that the 2024/25 Competition Calendar is also now available to view.
Underpinned by a detailed review and consultation process, including engagement with key stakeholders, the Calendar was recently signed off by the Hockey Ireland Board.
One of the calendar’s highlights, building on the existing Irish Cups, is a revamp of the Cup competitions with each Cup now of four rounds and 16 clubs, and having the effect of tightening the calendar and facilitating Club entry.
The process was led by Competition Chair Iain Kelly and supported by Inez Cooper and the Competitions Review Group.
Commenting on the Calendar’s release, Competition Chair Iain Kelly said: “The strength of this calendar, I and the Competitions Review Group believe, is the engagement process that informed its development and completion. We also wanted to make the new calendar available as early as possible, allowing the hockey community to get on with what it needs to do now for the new season ahead.”
