Park Developments reaffirms Hockey Ireland partnership as Ireland Senior Women’s squad prepares to travel to Chile for FIH Nations Cup

DUBLIN, 10 Feb 2025: Hockey Ireland is delighted to announce Park Developments’ continued support for the Ireland Senior Women’s hockey team, re-affirming the partnership across 2025 and 2026. It comes as the squad prepares to travel to Chile for the FIH Nations Cup at the end of February.

Park Developments, one of Ireland’s leading Property Development Groups, and Hockey Ireland began their partnership in 2019, which was subsequently extended and now will run through to the end of 2026. This continued investment in the success and development of the women’s squad comes as the team sets out on a busy competition calendar in 2025.

The Ireland Senior Women’s hockey team are currently World Rank #12 and this year sees competition at the FIH Nations Cup in Santiago, Chile Feb 23-Mar 2 and the EuroHockey Championships in Monchengladbach, Germany Aug 9-17. The team will be going for gold in Chile at the FIH Nations Cup following their silver medal in 2024, which would secure them qualification into the FIH Pro League for Season 2025/26.

The partnership also includes the Hockey Ireland Hockey4All inclusion programme and the HockeyID national representative team, who also set out for their Europeans in Monchengladbach, Germany Aug 11-13. The Hockey4All programme offers young people with disabilities an opportunity to become part of the local hockey community, to keep healthy (socially, mentally and physically) and have fun in a team sport.

Commenting on the agreement Park Developments Managing Director Sean O’Neill said,

“We are delighted to re-affirm our support for the Irish Women’s Hockey team and reinforce our commitment to this incredible group of players until 2027. Our investment is focused on direct player support by way of bursaries to assist them in their daily lives and support them to compete at the highest level of international hockey. Over the past six years we have witnessed the growth of these women on and off the pitch, and we are excited to see what they achieve next. We wish the team the very best in their endeavour to qualify for the FIH Pro league at this month’s Nations Cup competition in Chile.”

“We are also excited to continue our support for the Hockey4All program, as a key area for development within the hockey family, to ensure that more people have the opportunity to play and enjoy the game.”

Commenting also Anne McCormack, Hockey Ireland CEO said:

“We have shared this very supportive and engaged partnership with Park Developments since 2019 and today’s announcement underlines their commitment to our continued growth and success. It complements the ambition of this talented team and directly supports the commitment each of its world class athletes makes to our sport and Ireland’s international standing.”

“The support for our Hockey4All programme comes at an important time also, as we look to expand our inclusion initiative across more Clubs and more teams.”
