Ministers launch €40m sports grant scheme for 2021

Perhaps your pitch needs redevelopment, refurbishment, or floodlight upgrades? 

Or you want to develop a new pitch in partnership with a school? 

The Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin, T.D, and the Minister of State for Sport and the Gaeltacht, Jack Chambers, T.D., today announced that €40 million is being made available in 2021 under a new round of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP).

The SCEP is the Government’s primary vehicle for providing support to sports clubs and communities to develop sports infrastructure around the country. Clubs should note the programme the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme and has a greater emphasis on Equipment than before.

The first step in obtaining a grant is to register on the Department’s online system. Hockey Ireland would like to encourage any clubs which are not already registered to do so now. Clubs can now register on the Department’s online system at www.sportscapitalprogramme.ie . Once registered, all applications must be made on the same website. The system will be open for applications from 11th December to 12th February, 2021.

Hockey Ireland are running a FREE webinar tomorrow, Tuesday 1st Dec, at 19.00 for all hockey clubs. This webinar, delivered by 2into3, will cover key points and helpful hints and tips to maximise the scoring of your application.
