EYHL Men’s Division 1 Oct 21

Fourth placed Glenanne get things underway on Saturday Oct 21 when they take on seventh placed Corinthian at St. Andrew’s College at 1:30 p.m. League leaders Three Rock Rovers host joint League leaders Banbridge in a top of the table clash at Grange Road starting at 2:30 p.m. Bottom side Instonians take on eight placed UCD who gained promotion from EYHL 2 at the end of last season in Shawsbridge at 3 p.m. Fifth placed YMCA host third placed Lisnagarvey at Wesley College beginning at 3:45 p.m. and finally, sixth placed Monkstown take on ninth placed Annadale at Rathdown School with a 4:15 p.m. start.

 

EYHL Women’s Division 1 Oct 21

Newly promoted Corinthian find themselves in ninth place in the table after four rounds and in search of their first points of the season as they entertain fifth placed Ulster Elks at St. Columba’s College with a 1:15 p.m. start. At the same time, League leaders Loreto host second placed Railway Union in a top of the table clash at Beaufort in what is the tie of the round. Defending champions UCD who are currently in fourth place host sixth placed Old Alexandra at the National Stadium starting at 2:05 p.m. Tenth placed Monkstown still in search of their first points of the campaign host Pegasus at Rathdown School with a 2:20 p.m. start and Pembroke Wanderers currently third placed in the League table host seventh placed Catholic Institute at Serpentine Avenue at 2:30 p.m.

 

Result EY Hockey League Men’s Division 1 Round 5 – Tuesday Oct 17

BANBRIDGE 3 (Louis Rowe 16 & 54 mins; Johnny Mc Kee 70 mins)

ANNADALE 1 (Michael Robson 4 mins)

Banbridge took on Annadale in their re-arranged EYHL Men’s Division1fixture on Tuesday night in Havelock Park. Annadale took an early lead through a Michael Robson converted penalty corner in the 4th minute. Banbridge got back on level terms through a Louis Rowe goal from open play and it was 1-1 at the end of quarter one. The two sides remained level right up to half time. A scoreless third quarter followed and then Banbridge got going in the fourth quarter. Louis Rowe got his second of the game on 54 minutes and a last-minute goal from Johnny McKee secured the victory by three goals to one. Banbridge leapfrog Lisnagarvey to second in the table behind Three Rock Rovers on goal difference.

 

Women’s Hockey Challenge – Saturday Oct 21

Kilkeel host Clonakilty in an outstanding first round tie in the Irish Women’s Hockey Challenge this coming Saturday 2.30 p.m. at Kilkeel High School.
